Which is better, iPhone or Android?

Ok, here is the answer to the question you have been waiting for all week.  Which is better, iPhone or Android?  It depends on who you ask. My wife is an iPhone X user and for her, the iPhone is the best.  Now I have a Samsung 9 user and for me it is the best.  Kathy likes her's because it is easy to use. I like mine because I can customize it a little more. So you get to decide which phone gives you what you are looking for.  A really fancy phone won't do you much good if you don't know how to use it.
Just this afternoon Kathy accidentally turned on the flashlight on her phone.  Instead of trying to remember all the steps to turn it off, she hit her Siri button and said "Turn off my flashlight" and it was done.  I guess words do have power. I could argue that I can do it as fast by swiping down from the top and locating and hitting the flashlight icon but the important thing is the job gets done whichever way you use.  We all get used to using our own phones and are familiar with how to get what we want from it.  If I hand my phone to Kathy and ask her to do something she acts like I am asking her to use a foreign language, which is really what I am doing.  But for me, trying to figure out something on her phone is kind of fun for me.  You have heard the saying, "It's all fun and games until somebody gets hurt," in this case, "It's all fun and games until I mess up her phone and then I might get hurt."
The truth is though that neither Kathy or I use our phones to do anywhere close to what they are capable of.  But I love that I can use my phone to find out how much money is in my checking account.  I can take a picture of a check and deposit without leaving my house.  I can pay bills, order lotion for Kathy and tons of other stuff.  My favorite app is my YouVersion Bible app.  I can have the Bible read to me,  read devotions and copy verses to name a few.  Kathy and I love to play Words with Friends and we love all the songs we can listen to for free. We have been using our phones to do Zoom meetings which is really cool and just the other day, I learned that you can do Facebook video chat with more than one person at a time.  Who knew?
I know that my phone can be used in harmful ways.  I can look at things I shouldn't and waste time on Facebook and other things and look at the news way too much.  But these things can be overcome with accountability and determination and should not hold me back from using my phone in all the positive ways that it offers me.  Which leads me back to the subject of goals which I mentioned last week.
I think that each of our lives are quite a bit like our phones.  We are capable of far more than we think. When I want my phone to do something or help me learn how to do something, I google it.  When I find out what the steps are, I follow them and it most often turns out successfully.  But it won't happen unless I take the initiative to decide what I want and follow through. That's why I think goals are important because they're the starting point for positive things to happen. I am convinced that if  we set goals, make plans and take steps to get there, we can achieve far more than we thought we could.  And we will have a far greater impact on our situation and the lives of others than we every imagined.
I am sure you have heard the saying "Don't leave anything on the table." That is how I feel.  I don't want any of my gifts and talents to go unused because I think God gave them to me to use for His service and to benefit others.  Just a thought.  Have a great week!
