You Matter
Knowing what matters and what doesn't is one of the greatest challenges we face. How often do we put enormous time and energy into something only to find out it wasn't worth it? Most of us, I think, have the hope that when we get to the end of our days here, we will know that who we are and what we did mattered.
Always there, sometimes buried deep inside us, is the thought: Do I matter? I've heard songs that say love is the answer and I think what is the question? Well, I think the question is do I matter? When someone loves us or we are able to love someone else without ulterior motives, then we know we matter.
One of my goals for this blog is not to tell you what to think but to give you something to think about. There is a verse in the Bible that says to stir one another up to love and good works. This then, would be my attempt to do that. To pick up the sword and wade into the fray. To banish hopelessness, indifference and mediocrity. Well, at least, to have a litte fun maybe.
So ask yourself do I believe that I matter? Many times we try to change our behavior, but I think we first need to change what we believe. So how do I change what I believe? I am glad you asked. You can change what you believe by telling yourself the truth. So what is truth? Well, that's for another time, but for now trust me: You Matter.
